Mouth to Lung vaping
Mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping is the most common and popular way of vaping, encompassing various devices such as disposable vapes, prefilled pod systems, and refillable pod kits. MTL vaping is particularly favoured by vapers seeking high nicotine strengths using 20mg or higher nicotine salt e-liquids. In MTL vaping, you inhale the vapor into your mouth first, hold it there, and then fully breathe it into your lungs, mimicking the experience of drawing on a traditional cigarette.
Many smokers transitioning to vaping find MTL devices preferable due to their familiarity. One of the key advantages of MTL vaping is the excellent flavour it delivers. To enhance flavour production in MTL devices, it is recommended to use e-liquids with a high PG (propylene glycol) level. This also provides a broader range of options when selecting your preferred e-liquid and nicotine strength.
In MTL devices, you have the flexibility to choose any nicotine strength ranging from 0mg (no nicotine) to 50mg (nicotine salt). This allows you to customize your vaping experience according to your preferences and nicotine requirements. Whether you prefer a nicotine-free vape or require higher nicotine concentrations, MTL vaping can cater to your needs.
Direct to Lung vaping
Direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping offers a niche and distinct approach to vaping, with a style that may not be as familiar to smokers but is popular among users of hookah and similar devices. Unlike mouth-to-lung vaping, DTL vaping involves inhaling the vapor directly into your lungs without holding it in your mouth first. This technique closely resembles the experience of using a Shisha or Hookah pipe. DTL vaping tends to be more intense and satisfying, producing larger vapour clouds, which has made it increasingly popular among hobby vapers and cloud chasers.
While DTL vaping offers a unique experience, it is not typically favored by beginners, especially those transitioning from cigarettes. The preference for this style has emerged more recently. It is important to note that due to the direct delivery of nicotine, it is advisable to use low-nicotine or nicotine-free e-liquids (3mg and below) in DTL vaping. Higher nicotine strengths or e-liquids with a high PG content can result in harsh throat hits. For DTL devices, the recommended maximum nicotine strength is 6mg, and it is best to opt for high VG (vegetable glycerin) e-liquids, with a maximum PG mix of 30%. This allows for a smoother vaping experience and better vapour production.
